Current launch configuration

Splintercat does not currently offer accounts, accept payments, run a newsletter form, or intentionally use advertising or non-essential analytics cookies.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact Splintercat by email, we receive the address, message, attachments, and other information you choose to send. We use it to respond, investigate corrections, protect the site, or maintain necessary records.

Technical information

Our hosting, security, domain, or content-delivery providers may process routine technical data such as IP address, browser, device, requested URL, referral information, timestamps, and security events. This information may be needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain logs.

Cookies and local storage

The launch site is designed without non-essential cookies or browser storage. If analytics, advertising, embedded media, personalization, or other technologies are added later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used.

Affiliate and external links

Splintercat links to external retailers, including Amazon. When you follow an external link, that retailer may receive routine technical and referral information and may place or recognize cookies under its own privacy practices. Future affiliate links may also include an identifier that attributes a visit or qualifying purchase to Splintercat; we do not receive your retailer password, payment credentials, or complete order-account details. See the affiliate disclosure and the retailer’s privacy choices for more information.

Sharing

Splintercat does not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers that operate the website or email, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and security, or address fraud and abuse.

Retention and security

Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, or backups. No internet service can promise absolute security; we use proportionate safeguards and minimize what the site requests.

Your choices

You may ask about personal information you sent directly, request a correction, or request deletion where applicable. We may need enough information to verify and process the request.

Children

Splintercat is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.

Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. The policy in effect when you use the site applies to that interaction.
